Happy February, Everyone. (How can we be halfway through February already!!??) Happy Valentine’s Day, Palentine’s Day, Singles Awareness Day, Galentine’s Day, Akoma Day, Friendship Day, International Quirkyalone Day, International Kissing Day. Whichever holiday name suits you best, they’re all about love. Celebrate in your preferred style, hopefully with lots of smiles! There’s so much to celebrate in February. Llet us not forget Random Acts of Kindness Day (2/17), National Drink Wine Day (2/18), Best Friends Day (2/19), National Tortilla Chip Day (2/24), National Toast Day (2/29 - it’s a thing!), and LEAP YEAR Day (2/29)! Did you know that Leap Years were introduced by Julius Caesar over 2,000 years ago, to account for a pesky 1/4 day that kept throwing the calendar off? Or that according to an old Irish legend (or possibly history...) St. Brigid struck a deal with St. Patrick to allow women to propose to men on Leap Day every for years, to balance the traditional roles of men and women? If you were born on February 29, you’re apparently cordially invited to join The Honor Society of Leap Year Day Babies - so check that out. |
